Do you remember, two years ago, when we challenged you to make 8-1/2” x 11” quilts for the doll beds being constructed by the Albuquerque Woodworkers? You made almost 200, and we hung them from the ceiling until December when they were put together with beds and dolls as Christmas presents for distribution by the Albuquerque Police Department and 12 Albuquerque charities.
We have the opportunity to join in this extraordinary effort once again: We have received beautifully printed fabric panels with dolls that are anxious to be sewn and stuffed so that they can be put together with their beds and quilts.
Pick up your panel with 2 charmingly different dolls. We shall give you a fat quarter of your choice when you bring the 2 completed dolls back to the shop. The finished dolls will grace our shop, under the lights (much as the quilts did two yearsago), until December. You will be able to identify your doll by the unique fabric you pick for the back and by your name on the ribbon by which she is displayed.
PS. We still have patterns for the quilts; you can “earn” a fat quarter by making 4 quilts, and we shall display them, too.
