Introduction to Machine Sewing
CLASS DESCRIPTION
(This class, or equivalent experience, is a prerequisite for all machine classes.) In this introductory course you will learn the basics to machine sewing in preparation for quilting and garment-making. Confidently start your sewing journey by learning about different types of fabrics, basic functions of your sewing machine, troubleshooting techniques, measuring and cutting fabrics, and machine maintenance.
FABRICS
½ yard of fabric
EQUIPMENT & NOTIONS
Pencil
Sharpie
Acrylic ruler (suggested 6 1/2”x24 1/2”)
Rotary cutter
Cutting mat
Fabric shears
Sewing machine and basic relevant supplies
Thread in a contrasting color to your fabric
